Section 01

Who we are

A Hong Kong-registered OEM producer and international supplier of flooring, tiles and general merchandise — designing its own ranges and having them manufactured to specification for large-volume buyers across Southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South America.

01 Origin

Incorporated 1980, acquired from its own supplier.

VIPO International Company Limited was incorporated in Hong Kong on 18 January 1980. It was acquired by its current principals from one of their earliest manufacturing suppliers — a relationship that began on the factory side of the business and ended in ownership of it.

That inversion still describes how VIPO operates: the company works from inside the production process rather than buying finished goods off a catalogue. Its principals have been active in international product sourcing, design and distribution for well over fifteen years.

02 Structure

Link International, reacquired and split in two.

In 2021 the principals reacquired Link International — a business they had originally built and subsequently sold to a corporate group in stages between 2009 and 2014 — and restructured the trade into two separately held entities with distinct product mandates.

PEX International

Construction and home-improvement products. Separately owned and independently managed.

VIPO International

Flooring, tiles and general merchandise — and the owner of the KREM retail brand.

The two companies are separately owned and independently managed.

03 Own brands

VIPO owns KREM, its flagship retail brand.

Alongside the OEM programme, VIPO develops and owns retail brands — of which KREM is the flagship — giving it control of design, range architecture, packaging and shelf presentation rather than reselling third-party labels.
